The Dream Journal – March 2020

Hello!

Here in New Hampshire, the days are getting warmer, and the sun is getting higher in the sky, which means that the most important season of the year has arrived. Yes, that’s right — it’s maple syrup season! Little did we realize when we moved here that we had found Maple Syrup Central. We love to spend March weekends touring the local sugar shacks and tasting their wares. And none of that wimpy light amber stuff for us. We go for the robust dark! Rich maple syrup smell and flavor… mmmm!

We’re not going too far from home during maple season, but with the magic of the internet, you can hear us from wherever you are. Come on over to our Facebook page on Wednesday, March 18th at 8pm Eastern time. You can curl up on your couch, and we’ll bring our music right to you!

We haven’t played down in the south shore of Massachusetts in quite a long time, so we’re looking forward to visiting the Norwell, MA Library on Sunday, March 22nd for an afternoon show. Norwell’s library is under construction, so they’re temporarily housed in Hanover, MA. You can sign up for the show through the library’s website. Music starts at 2pm.

We weren’t sure we’d be back in New England in time for this month’s Serendipity Songwriter Showcase, so Beth DeSombre is hosting this month at Serendipity Cafe in Maynard, MA on Wednesday, March 11th. Last month’s show was postponed to this month due to illness, so Beth is again welcoming Peter Lehndorff and Mark Stepakoff as her guests. The theme for the evening, as chosen by December’s audience, is “Who is left to witness?” Check out the great food and beverages, as well as lots of great original songs. You get to help choose the theme for April’s songwriters, too! Music runs 7:30pm-9:30pm.

We are thrilled that our new album, Then and Now, was ranked #7 on the Folk DJ radio charts for the month of January! Thanks so much to all the DJs who played songs from the CD. If you have a local folk radio show, we’d love it if you would ask the DJ to play our music. If they do, let us know!

Next Sunday we set the clocks ahead here in the US, and early mornings are dark again. If you need some cheering up on those dark mornings, here’s Dan’s song, New Vision, to bring you some hope.

We post videos up on YouTube on occasion.  Check out our YouTube page!  If you subscribe to the page, you’ll be notified whenever we post new videos.

Our albums Then and Now, Seeking and Simple Grace are available from us at our shows, on our website, or you can find them at iTunes and most other online music stores.

As always, you can find additional schedule information on our website. For more frequent news updates and information, check out our Facebook fan page and follow us on Twitter (@danandfaith).

Music is a force for good in this world. Support live local music!

The Dream Journal – February 2020

Hello!

Yes, it’s true. We spent some time farther south to escape a bit of the New England winter, but we will soon be back where the snow falls, and look forward to sharing our music with you in the near future.

Given that the weather in February is not always conducive to going out, we figured we should have a concert where you don’t have to shovel the driveway or put on a parka to attend. Join us online at 8pm Eastern time on Wednesday, February 19th with a Facebook Live concert. You can snuggle up on the couch with a warm blanket and a cup of hot cocoa, and we’ll sing away your winter blues! Just point your browser at https://www.facebook.com/danandfaith and you’ll find the event there. Can’t make it at that time? It will be available afterward at the same place for your listening and viewing pleasure.

While we’re out on the road, the Serendipity Songwriter Showcase is still going on. Join host Beth DeSombre at the Serendipity Cafe in Maynard, MA on Wednesday, February 12th. Beth is joined this month by guest songwriters Peter Lehndorff and Mark Stepakoff. The theme for this month’s songwriters, as chosen by the December audience, is “Who is left to witness?”. Stop in for dinner, a hot beverage, delicious baked goods, and lots of great original songs. You can help choose the songwriting theme for the March songwriters, too. The music runs 7:30-9:30pm.

In honor of Valentines Day, we offer you a little love song. The theme for this one was “Road Trips”, but we already have several road songs. So Dan had a little fun with the theme. Enjoy “There For You”!

During the month of January, our new album, Then and Now, has been getting a bunch of radio air play across the country. If you have a favorite local (or not so local) folk radio DJ, feel free to let them know you’d like to hear one of our songs on their show. If you hear one, let us know!

We’re always interested in learning about local venues you think might like to feature our music. Whether it’s a cafe, coffeehouse, library, or other listening room, drop us a note with information on where it’s located, what sort of place it is, and any contact information you may have. Don’t have a local venue but do have a reasonable sized living room? You could host a house concert! It can be as simple as inviting over a bunch of friends and setting up some folding chairs. Interested? Or just curious about what’s involved? Let’s talk.

Our albums Then and Now, Seeking and Simple Grace are available from us at our shows, on our website, or you can find them at CD Baby, iTunes and most other online music stores.

As always, you can find additional schedule information on our website. For more frequent news updates and information, check out our Facebook fan page and follow us on Twitter (@danandfaith).

Nothing cures cabin fever quite like going out to hear live local music!
