Hello!
Last Saturday, we spent the day cleaning out the shed in the back yard, wearing short sleeves and a sweater. And this Saturday, we’re supposed to have wind chill readings in the single digits, if not colder. Ah, spring in New England!
We count ourselves lucky in the central MA area to have WICN radio and DJ Nick Noble who are so supportive of local music and local musicians. We’ll be joining Nick on his radio show, The Folk Revival, this Thursday, March 2nd. Nick’s show runs 7-11pm, and we’ll be on somewhere between 8 and 9. His theme this week is, “Something Old & Something New”. We’ll chat and play a few songs for him — and for you! If you’re in the Worcester, MA area, tune your radio to 90.5FM. We’re definitely looking forward to this month’s Serendipity Songwriter Showcase on Wednesday, March 8th at Serendipity Cafe in Maynard, MA, as we’re joined by a couple of our favorite local songwriters, Sam Bayer and Rob Siegel. Our topic this month, chosen by our February audience, is “Alternate Facts”. Stop by, have dinner, enjoy some tasty baked goods, listen to wonderful original music by terrific songwriters, and help choose the topic for April’s musicians. The music runs 7:30-9:30pm. Sunday, March 19th brings us back to the Common Street Spiritual Center in Natick, MA for their Sunday Circle. Each Sunday at 10:30am, the Common Street community gathers for inspiration, connection, and worship. “We also share our wisdom and encourage one another to develop spiritual practices that lead to spiritual growth, expanded consciousness, acceptance, and a more loving way of life.” We are again honored to join the community and share our music as part of the circle. Please join us!
Come out to the Bolton Public Library Unplugged open mike at the Bolton Public Library in Bolton, MA on Tuesday, March 21st. We start with a 2-song formal first round, then we pull the chairs into a circle and jam until we’re out of songs, out of steam, or tossed out by the cleaning crew! Want to play a Saint Paddy’s Day tune? Share spring poetry? Or just kick back and listen to our talented neighbors? Stop by! Music starts at 7pm. Piano players — please reply to this message if you wish to play, and we’ll be sure to bring a keyboard.
We’ve been traveling down to Cape May, NJ every spring for the last few years to attend the Singer Songwriter Cape May conference. This year, we are playing a showcase in Carney’s Other Room at Carney’s on the beach in Cape May on Saturday, March 25th at 8:30pm. This is our first time playing at Carney’s, and we’re looking forward to it. Check out New Jersey Stage for this great article on the conference and our gig at Carney’s.
